PAPERWORK NEEDED FOR MORTGAGE APPLICATION
When applying for a loan, you will have to
fill out a loan application, the back up the information
on the application with supporting documentation for
them to feel secure about lending you money.
All applicants need to provide the lender:
- Photo ID
- Last 30-days of pay stubs
- Past two-years Federal Tax Returns if self-employed, work on commission or tips, or own investment property
- Checking and savings accounts statements for the past two months (all pages - real statements, not printouts)
- Most recent statements for other assets such as bonds, stocks, or 401k
- W-2 withholding forms for past two-years
Purchase loans
- Realtor contact information
- Sales contract for the purchase of a new home
- Homeowner's association information with contact information if property is a condo or part of a homeowner's association
- Proof of homeowners insurance
Refinance loans
- Current mortgage statement
- Proof of home owners insurance
Common Misc Documents
- Certified copy of divorce papers
- Proof of foreclosure date (Sheriff Certificate of Sale)
- Certificate of Eligibility (VA home loans)
